Women Empowerment Schemes

The empowerment of women means the action of raising the status of women within the society by providing them education, literacy, training etc.  It spreads awareness in the society treat women/girls equal as men. It gives women the chance of employment, to stand on their legs. However, it cannot become 100% successful without the participation of women in education additionally as employment.

Basically, it’s observed that women empowerment depends on five major factors-

  • Social
  • Educational
  • Economical
  • Political
  • Psychological

The year 2001 was declared as the “Year of Women’s Empowerment” by the govt. of India. The National Policy of this was passed during this year.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)May 1, 2017Narendra ModiIt was launched to provide maternity benefits; to improve the health of pregnant ladies and lactating mothers by reducing the effects of undernutrition by giving cash incentives. It was l aunched in 2010 as Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY); renamed as Matritva Sahyog Yojana in 2014 and again as Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) in 2017.
Mahila E-Haat7 th  March, 2016Narendra ModiIT provides financial support to women entrepreneurs and to support their creativity. Basically, it is to strengthen the socio-economic empowerment of women.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana1 st May 2016Narendra ModiTo safeguard the women from health issues caused by cooking through fossil fuels and other fuels. So, LPG was provided for the health purpose of women.

She-Box Policy2018To help women’s with the cases of sexual harassment at workplace; each case directly goes to the central/ state authority concerned having jurisdiction to take required action in the case.
Mahila Police VolunteersIt is to extend the quantity of women force; it aims at safety and security of citizens and specially women.
Working Women HostelIntroduced in 1972-73 and after amendment re-launched on 6th April, 2017 to push availability of safe and conveniently located accommodation for working women with day care facility for his or her children wherever possible in urban, semi urban or maybe rural areas where employment opportunity for ladies exist. 
Rajiv Gandhi National Creche SchemeLaunched in 2012, re-launched in 2016.It aimed to require care of children of working mothers, provided day-care facilities to children (6 months to 6 years). To coach and empower parents /caregivers for better childcare.
