Women Empowerment Schemes
The empowerment of women means the action of raising the status of women within the society by providing them education, literacy, training etc. It spreads awareness in the society treat women/girls equal as men. It gives women the chance of employment, to stand on their legs. However, it cannot become 100% successful without the participation of women in education additionally as employment.
Basically, it’s observed that women empowerment depends on five major factors-
The year 2001 was declared as the “Year of Women’s Empowerment” by the govt. of India. The National Policy of this was passed during this year.

|One Stop Centre Scheme||1st April, 2015||Narendra Modi||Its major objective is to provide support and safety to women from violence at public as well as private places. It aimed to setup One Stop Centres (OSC) which is to be funded from the Nirbhaya Fund.|
|Women Helpline Scheme||1st April, 2015||Narendra Modi||To provide 24 hours service to women affected from violence including sexual harassment at public as well as private places.
Women's Helpline No.: 181 Toll free; 1091- Police Helpline, 102 (hospital/Ambulance) & 108 (Emergency Response Services).
|Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)||May 1, 2017||Narendra Modi||It was launched to provide maternity benefits; to improve the health of pregnant ladies and lactating mothers by reducing the effects of undernutrition by giving cash incentives. It was l aunched in 2010 as Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY); renamed as Matritva Sahyog Yojana in 2014 and again as Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) in 2017.|
|Mahila E-Haat||7 th March, 2016||Narendra Modi||IT provides financial support to women entrepreneurs and to support their creativity. Basically, it is to strengthen the socio-economic empowerment of women.|
|Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana||1 st May 2016||Narendra Modi||To safeguard the women from health issues caused by cooking through fossil fuels and other fuels. So, LPG was provided for the health purpose of women.|
|Sukanya Samridhi Yojana||22 nd January 2015||Narendra Modi||By introducing the saving scheme specially for the women or girl-child to fulfil their dreams of education, marriage etc.|
|Swadhar Greh Scheme||2002||Narendra Modi||It provides shelter, food, clothing, and medical benefits to women. It also provides economic and emotional support to them readjusts their life with their family and society.|
|Support to Training and Employment Programme for Girls (STEP)||Launched as central scheme in 2009||Narendra Modi||To provide skills to women for employment.|
|Shadi Shagun Yojana||6 th August 2017||Narendra Modi||It was for minority group girls to pursue higher education.|
|Universal Scheme for Adolescent Girls||16 th November 2017||Narendra Modi||The girls of age group 11-14 years were provided nutrition support and training under non- nutrition.|
|Pradhan Mantri Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme||2017||Narendra Modi||It aimed at improving the quality of women’s life; major emphasis was on empowering rural women from saving their life to providing them education.|
|She-Box Policy||2018||To help women’s with the cases of sexual harassment at workplace; each case directly goes to the central/ state authority concerned having jurisdiction to take required action in the case.|
|Mahila Police Volunteers||It is to extend the quantity of women force; it aims at safety and security of citizens and specially women.|
|Working Women Hostel||Introduced in 1972-73 and after amendment re-launched on 6th April, 2017||to push availability of safe and conveniently located accommodation for working women with day care facility for his or her children wherever possible in urban, semi urban or maybe rural areas where employment opportunity for ladies exist.|
|Rajiv Gandhi National Creche Scheme||Launched in 2012, re-launched in 2016.||It aimed to require care of children of working mothers, provided day-care facilities to children (6 months to 6 years). To coach and empower parents /caregivers for better childcare.|
|National Mission for Empowerment of Women (NMEW)||15 th August 2011||Initiative by Government of India||It emphasised on the conceptual and programmatic basis of women-centric schemes implemented.|
|Rashtriya Mahila Kosh (RMK)||March 1, 1993||It supported the expansion of entrepreneur skills of women.|
|Nand- Ghar Yojana||24 th June 2015||It focuses on learning environment via e-learning module and skill enhancement programmes.|
|Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana||March 1, 2016||Narendra Modi||Aimed to provide clean fuel for cooking to women.|
|e-Samvad Portal||2018||Portal for interaction of NGOs to contact the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development.|
|Nari Web Portal||2018||It aims at spreading information about schemes and benefits.|
|New Draft National Policy||2019||Draft aimed at some necessary needs of women in some areas like health, education, economy etc.|
|Nari Shakti Puruskars||1999||It gave an opportunity to the current generation to understand the contribution of women in society and country.|
