SSC Stenographer Eligibility 2020
Aspirants of SSC Stenographer 2020 will have to fulfill certain eligibility requirements to successfully fill the application form.
Academic Qualification
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent exam from a recognized board or university as on January 1, 2020.
Nationality
- A candidate must be either:
- 1. A citizen of India, or
- 2. A subject of Nepal, or
- 3. A subject of Bhutan, or
- 4. A Tibetan refugee who seeked asylum in India before January 1, 1962.
- 5. Person with indian origins who has transferred from one of the following countries: Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, etc.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) have to produce a certificate of eligibility at the time of offer of appointment.
Age Limit (as on January 1, 2020)
- The age of the candidate must be between 18 to 30 years for Grade-C and between 18 to 27 years for Grade-D .
- Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ Ex-Servicemen, Central Government Employees, and J&K domiciled category can avail age relaxation as per the Government of India norms.
SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2020
- SSC Stenographer 2020 will be a computer based exam having multiple choice questions.
- The question papers will be set in both English and Hindi (except for English language section).
- Each question carries 1 mark and 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

There are verbal and non-verbal questions included in this segment. The test will include questions based on:

SSC Stenographer 2020 Preparation Tips
As mentioned earlier, written test of SSC Stenographer 2020 consists of three parts:
- Part I- General Intelligence and Reasoning
- Part II- General awareness
- Part III- English language and comprehension

SSC Stenographer Application Form 2020
SSC releases online applications for SSC Stenographer 2020. Candidates can fill the appication form by following the below given steps:
Step 1: SSC Registration
- Visit the official website of SSC and navigate to click on “Apply”
- Click on “Steno C & D” tab and click on “Apply now” link.
- Enter the details (name, father’s name, date of birth, gender) to register for the SSC Stenographer.
- Enter text or captcha in the field provided.
- The new window to enter the personal, basic and contact details in the SSC Stenographer Application Form
- Enter the captcha at the end and click on ‘Submit’
- You will receive an SMS and an Email stating your registration number and password.
Step 2: Upload Photo and Signature
Candidates have to upload scanned images of their color passport size photograph and signature in described specifications:

Step 3: Fill SSC Stenographer Application Form
- Select the desired SSC Stenographer Exam Center along with the applicable code
- Indicate category code and the post you are applying for.
- Select the academic qualification details along with the generic details in application form
- Enter the contact details correctly for further correspondence.
- Preview and submit the form
Step 4: SSC Stenographer Fee Payment
There is an option to pay the application fee both in offline and online mode:
Online Mode
- Choose the payment gateway among Net banking/ Debit/ Credit Card or BHIM UPI
- Enter the details and pay the fees.
Offline Mode
- Download e-challan from the official website before October 20, 2019.
- Submit the cash in nearest SBI Bank branch along with this challan.

SSC Stenographer Exam Centers 2020
Candidates have to mention the center code along with the preferred choice of SSC Stenographer Exam Center while filling up the application form.
- The allocated SSC Stenographer Exam Center is mentioned on the admit card.
- Candidates must enter the choice of exam center wisely.
- Once selected, the commission will not approve any changes to the location to the exam center.
SSC Stenographer Result 2020
SSC Stenographer 2020 Result has a separate declaration for the written test and the skill test. SSC Stenographer Result for written test will be declared in June, 2020 (tentatively)
- Candidates who pass the written test are eligible to sit for the skill test in SSC Stenographer 2020.
- Post skill test, the Commission releases a Final Merit List or Allotment List on the official website.
- Candidates included in the merit list are recommended for an appointment by the commission.
- They are allocated to User Departments depending upon the merit position and options exercised by them.
SSC Stenographer 2020 Admit Card
Candidates will be issued SSC Stenographer Admit Card in the month of April, 2020. They can download the SSC Stenographer Admit card from the official website of SSC. The steps to download SSC Stenographer 2019 Admit card are given below:
- Visit the official website of SSC
- Follow the link ‘download SSC Stenographer Admit Card 2020’
- Enter the details asked such as roll number, date of birth, candidate’s name etc.
- Post verification of the entered details, click on Submit
- Download the Admit Card if the information mentioned on it is correct.
- Print admit card for further neccessary application.
SSC Stenographer Admit card is available on the website 2 weeks prior to the date of the exam. There is different SSC Stenographer Admit card for both written examination and skill test. The discrepancies related to the SSC Stenographer Admit card are entertained at the Regional centers for different states.
