CDS Exam 2020

The UPSC released the CDS official notification on 30th October 2019. CDS online application has begun on the official website of CDS. The last date to apply for UPSC CDS I Exam is 19th November 2019. CDS 1 online application can be withdrawn from 26th November to 3rd December 2019 till 6 pm. CDS Exam will be conducted on 2nd February 2020. Combined Defence Services Examination is conducted to recruit candidates for serving in the prestigious defense organization of India. CDS Examination will be conducted in the offline mode and the allocated exam centers can be found from the CDS Admit card. A candidate will be given four-year training in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA).

If you want to become an officer serving under the Army/Navy/Air Force then this is one of the exams that can help you live your dream. A candidate first needs to appear for the written exam that is nothing but CDS exam. After the CDS written test, if the candidate receives an SSB call letter from the Service Selection Board then he/she needs to report to the board on the reporting date. SSB is responsible for conducting various tests in order to read the psychology of candidates and find out who are the potential candidates fit for becoming an officer.

CDS Exam 2020 Vacancy

This year, there are a total of 418 vacancies available for various posts. The 418 vacancies are divided among all the four academies IMA, INA, OTA, and AFA respectively. We bring you the detailed vacancy for each post below:

CDS Exam 2020 Eligibility Criteria

If a candidate is not found to be eligible, he/she can be rejected at any moment irrespective of the fact that he/she has cleared the CDS examination or not.

• Nationality: Unmarried and must either be a citizen of India/ Bhutan/ Nepal/ Tibetan refugee/ person of Indian origin.
• Age: 17 to 24 years.
• Educational Qualification: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent OR Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution OR Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

CDS Exam 2020 Exam Pattern

Please note that the exam pattern will be different for those who want admission in OTA and those who want in other academies.

• For every correct attempt, the candidate will be getting 1 mark.
• There will be negative marking for every wrong attempt. A total of one-third marks i.e. 0.33 marks will be deducted.

How to Appy For CDS Exam 2020?

Candidates can follow the below steps to apply for CDS exam:

• 1st Step: Visit the official website of the UPSC i.e. upsconline.nic.in.
• 2nd Step: Details of the photo ID Card has to be filled.
• 3rd Step: Upload the scanned copy of Photo ID which details have been provided.
• 4th Step: Note that the same Photo ID that you have provided in the application form has to be brought on the Exam day and SSB interview.

CDS Application Fees: Rs. 200/- except for Female/SC/ST. The Application Fees can be paid through online or offline mode.

After the exam, the candidates whose name is present in the merit list will be receiving an SSB call letter where the reporting date and time will be mentioned. The aspirants then need to report at the SSB center and pass all the tests. Once the candidate has cleared the SSB interview then they will be called for a medical check and upon successful clearance, the candidates will be sent to the respective academy.

CDS Exam 2020 Result

Candidates can check the result after 3 months from the conclusion of the exam. A merit list will be declared where the name of the candidates who have qualified the written exam will be mentioned. Read the below article to find out more about the CDS Result.

CDS Exam 2020 Admit Card

Candidates can download the CDS 2020 admit card from the official website of UPSC. CDS e-Admit Card will be issued three weeks before the commencement of the exam. Aspirants will be notified about the availability of the admit card once it is made available. It is to be noticed that no CDS admit card will be sent to candidates by post.
