The recruitment  process of the Canara Bank PO is conducted to select the appropriate candidates for the post of Probationary Officers in Junior Grade Scale I after the whole completion of the specifically designed Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance (PGDBF) course. The training of the course of the Canara Bank PGDBF is of the duration of one-year that all the interested candidates can encounter at one of the two provided locations, which are- 1.  Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru campus, 2. NITTE Education International Pvt Ltd. Greater Noida campus.

All the interested candidates who are willing to take admission to the above mentioned course are selected through the objective test conducted via online mode followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The complete authority of conducting the test via online mode is given to the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) while the Canara Bank is authorized for conducting the other selection processes.

All the eligible candidates will be provided with a income scale of Rs 23700 – 980/7 – 30560 – 1145/2 – 32850 – 1310/7 – 42020. And not only that but they will also be provided with the Dearness Allowance, HRA, CCA, Medical Aid, Leave Fare Concession, etc. Also the conveyance, furniture, etc, will be given to them as per on the place of their posting.

The eligibility criteria of the candidates is comprised of certain specific rules and regulations in terms of age, educational qualification, and nationality. Nationality:

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India or
  • Citizen of Nepal or Bhutan or

Knowledge of Computers

Candidates must have both operating and working knowledge of computers. Candidates who do not have the same should do the same within 6 months from the date of joining the bank.

Knowledge of Hindi

Candidates must know the speak and write in Hindi.

Age Limit: The age of candidates should be between 20 to 30 years. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories will be given relaxation in the upper age limit.

Educational qualification

Candidates must have a degree with a minimum of 60% marks and 55% for SC/ST/PWBD or equivalent grade in any discipline.

Canara Bank PO 2020 Selection Process

Filling the application form:  Canara Bank PO application form will be made available via online mode on the official website soon. The submission of application form of the exam have the charges  of Rs 708 for general category candidates while it is Rs 118 for SC/ST/PWBD categories candidates.

Release of admit card: The admit card will be released two to three weeks before the conduction of the exam. All the registered candidates will be able to download their Canara Bank PO admit card via online mode by first logging with their identifical registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. 

Online Test: The test is divided into four specific subjects-1. Reasoning, 2. Quantitative Aptitude, 3. English Language and 4. General Awareness. The question sheet will be having a total of 200 questions in it. The test will be having a total of 200 marks. And negative marking for each and every incorrect answer will also be there for the candidates. All the candidates must capture the section-wise and overall cut off marks to be qualified in the exam. All the appropriate candidates, depending on the number of desired vacancies, in the ratio of 1:3 will be called for Group Discussion and Interview.
