Salary Structure of Air Force Group Y
The salary of AirForce Group Y is governed by the 7th Commission Pay. The employees in the Group X and Y are commonly known as Person Below Officer Rank (PBOR) or Airmen. The Air Force has various posts for Non-Technical Trades such as Accounts Assistant, Administrative Assistant, IAF Police & Security, Logistics Assistant, Cryptographer, Environmental Support Services Assistant, Medical Assistant, Ground Training Instructor, Meteorological Assistant, Musician, and Operation Assistant. All these posts are grouped in the IAF Group Y. Here is the salary structure for these posts.

Air Force Y Group 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Basically, there are 3 criteria of eligibility which you need to qualify to join Indian Air Force - Age, Educational Qualification & Medical Standards. You need to qualify the following eligibility standards to apply for this exam. Apart from that, the candidate must be a citizen of India. Read below to know the other eligibility criteria for Indian Air Force exam:
1. Age Limit
- Maximum Age – 21 years
(Candidate born between 17 January 2000 and 30 December 2003 (both days inclusive) are eligible )
2. Educational Qualification
Group Y (Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician) Trades
- You must have passed 10+2 examination with any stream/subjects, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Group Y Medical Assistant Trade
- You must have passed 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
3. Medical Standards
General Medical Standards for both Group ‘X’ (Except Education Instructor Trade) and Group ‘Y’ (Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician) Trades is according to the Indian Air Force Standards

You will have to provide your basic information to complete the registration.

Following that, you will receive a provisional registration number and a system-generated password. Mark these down for future reference.

Adaptability Test- I (For both Group ‘ X’ & Group ‘Y’ Trades): All candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-I (objective type written test) which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.
Adaptability Test- II (For both Group ‘ X’ & Group ‘Y’ Trades): All candidates who pass Adaptability Test - I shall have to undertake Adaptability Test- II as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test- II is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.
Phase – III – Medical Examination
It shall be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on subject issue Medical examination would also include Baseline Investigation of:-
(a) Blood Haemogram - Hb, TLC, DLC (b) Urine RE/ME (c) Biochemistry (i) Blood Sugar Fasting & PP (ii) Serum Cholesterol (iii) Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine (iv) LFT—Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT (d) X- Ray chest (PA view) (e) ECG (R) (f) Tests for Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance Abuse
