AFCAT Indian Air Force 2020

Air Force Common Admission Test commonly known as AFCAT is an entrance examination conducted by Indian Air Force to select eligible and desirable candidates for multiple posts in Flying and Ground Duty [ Technical and Non- Technical]. AFCAT is conducted twice every year and millions of students appear to ace this exam and join reputable Air Force Academy and get commission as an Indian Air Force Officer. Indian Air Force has released AFCAT 2, 2020 Notification on 9th June 2020. Indian Air Force has released notification to Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of its elite force as Group A Gazetted Officers for courses commencing in July 2021. To crack the exam with good marks, aspirants must be well-versed with the AFCAT 2020 Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process. AFCAT 2020 Exam Date

The exam date for AFCAT 2 2020 exam has been released by Indian Air Force along with its official notification. As per the AFCAT notification, the AFCAT 2 2020 Exam will be conducted on 19th and 20th September 2020. AFCAT 2020 Exam important dates are tabulated below:

AFCAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

AFCAT 2020 eligibility criteria for Ground Duty and Flying Branch.

(A) Age criteria:?

• Flying Branch. 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2021 i.e. born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2001 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 2001 (both dates inclusive).
• Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches. 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2021 i.e. born between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 2001 (both dates Inclusive).

Note: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.

(B) Educational Qualification:

• Flying branch: Minimum 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a three-year degree in graduation OR a BE/BTECH degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.

• AFCAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria for Ground duty(Technical)Branch:

Aeronautical engineering (Electronics)(AE(L)): Minimum 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a degree in graduation/post-graduation in the field of engineering and technology from a recognized university.

AFCAT 2020 Exam Pattern

AFCAT Exam (Multiple Choice Questions)

Time Duration: 2 hrs

No. of questions: 100

Max marks: 300

Subjects: Verbal ability, Numerical ability, Reasoning, General Awareness and Military Aptitude.

There is a negative marking 1/3 in all sections.

Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT.

No. of questions: 50

Max marks: 150

Note: Candidates who are opting for Ground Duty (technical) branch have to pass both AFCAT & EKT.

AFCAT Syllabus 2020

General Awareness

This section tests the general knowledge of the candidates. The questions are designed on the basis of ongoing, current events in various fields around the world. About 20 questions are asked in this section.

English

This section tests the proficiency of student in English. The knowledge of language through comprehension is also a part of this section. Total number of questions asked from this section will be about 30.

Numerical Ability

EKT Syllabus

AFCAT EKT is a 45 minute exam and is followed by AFCAT. Candidates are given half an hour window after which AFCAT EKT Exam takes place. The total duration for AFCAT exam is 2 hours and the mode of examination is online.

The AFCAT EKT Exam Syllabus has a General engineering part which is based on the common topics of multiple branches of engineering. Also, based on the degree of the candidate, there are questions from the specialized part. These involve the following:

AFCAT 2020 Notification for AFCAT 2 has been released by Indian Air Force on 9th June 2020. The Online application of AFCAT 2, 2020 exam has started on 15th June 2020. AFCAT 2020 Application Fee

Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee.

AFCAT Salary 2020

• Cadet in the final year of training will be given a stipend of Rs. 56,100.

• After successful completion of training, level 10 in the Pay Matrix of seventh central Pay commission will be allotted to the young Air Officers [56100-1,10,700]

• Military Service Pay- 15,500 will also be included.

Additional Allowances

• Flying Branch- Rs 11250 per month.

• Technical Branch Officers: Rs 2500 per month.

• In Addition to these officers are also entitled to other allowances such as TA, DA, Children Education Allowance, Ration Money Allowance etc.

AFCAT 2020 Selection Process

Indian Air Force will send call letters to all the candidates who clear the AFCAT/EKT 2020 to appear for the second stage of selection i.e AFSB Testing.

AFSB Testing Stage 1

It includes the following two tests:

1. Officer Intelligence Rating Test.

2. Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT)

Stage 1 is called screening test and candidates who do not clear it will be rejected and will not be called for AFSB Testing Stage 2.

AFSB Testing Stage 2

All Stage 1 qualified candidates will have to appear for AFSB Stage 2 and undergo the following tests:

1. Psychological Tests: These are the written psychological tests and are conducted by professional psychologists.

2. Group Tests: These tests involve mental and physical activities to examine the candidates’ on various mental and physical parameters.

3. AFSB Interview: In this round, the interviewing officer takes a personal round of interview for the candidate.

4. Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test: This test is mandatory for only those candidates who have applied for the Flying Branch.

AFCAT 2020 Notification

Indian Air Force has released the notification for Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of its elite force as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty [Technical and Non-Technical] branches for courses commencing in July 2021. Indian Air Force conducts AFCAT 2020 examination which stands for Air Force Common Entrance Test for admission in elite Air Force Academy.
